Butterfly Jungle - Feel Free To Fly

The butterfly jungle at the Natural History Museum in London is reputed as having one of the most spectacular displays of tropical butterflies in the country. The butterflies and moths, including some of the largest and and most beautiful tropical butterflies on earth are set in a complimentary jungle garden.

The butterflies fly freely amongst colorful flowers and lush foliage in an enclosed jungle environment. The greenhouse contains approximately 200 - 400 butterflies, which consist of around 30 - 50 species. If you are lucky one or two may even land on you for a few seconds!

The rain-forest atmosphere is aided by temperatures between 25 - 30 degrees C and jungle sounds. Other animals of interest are Chinese Water Dragons, Maclay's Spectre Stick Insects and seed-eating finches. The friendly staff are on hand to share their information on the butterflies and their environment.
